In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the
Flag of the United States, which happened on June 14, 1777.

On June 14, 1954 (Flag Day), President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the bill into law,
officially adding the words "under God" into the Pledge of Allegiance.
